VIRTUAL CHALLENGES IN APRIL

With so many events being cancelled a few of our event organisers are holding Virtual events to help provide some much needed exercise and entertainment at this difficult time.  Here are 3 challenges from organisers who use SiEntries to take their entries.

National 3 Peaks, Stair Challenge – Easter Monday 13th April

Social distancing has given us a once in a lifetime opportunity to race over the iconic National Three Peaks from the comfort of our own home.  As an individual, or as a team of two/three, or four/five/six, you will climb and descend a total of 3406m, being the combined height of Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike.

UTC South Durham, a STEM-focused school and sixth form for 14-19 year olds with a strong technical and academic focus, are currently producing PPE visors to be donated to key workers.  They have had orders for thousands of visors, and are currently scaling up production to meet demand.  All proceeds from this event will go towards visor production, with any surplus being donated to other charities closely linked to supporting individuals affected by Covid-19.

Times and repetition count will be self-recorded and submitted after the event through SiEntries.

An average runner should  be able to complete the event solo in around 5-7 hours, as a team of 3 each individual will be climbing for around 2 hours, as a team of 6 it will be around 1 hour each. Teams can be in the same house, or in different locations.

Kendal Virtual Sprint Triathlon – Throughout April

Tasha Walsh of T2 Events is organising the Kendal Virtual Sprint Triathlon and you can earn a limited edition medal.  All you have to do is complete three different disciplines in the month of April. Upload your activities to the T2 Strava group and drop an email at tasha@t2.events.  You can share photos of your activities, staying safe and following the social distancing guidelines of course. Let’s have some fun and keep the fitness!

Whitehead Road Race – Easter Monday 13th April

This event will now take place as a virtual race and the organisers will post your steam train medal directly to you.
